Camera & Lightroom Session

2-hour session in person +
2 x 30-minute virtual follow-up sessions

Before you ever point your camera at a person, I want you to genuinely feel comfortable with it, not just like you're going through the motions. We'll sit down together, get some hands-on time with gear, and by the end of this session you'll understand what your settings actually mean and why they matter for the kind of photography you want to do.

    • Camera settings, modes, and how to use them;

    • Understanding the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, ISO);

    • Hands-on practice with Nikon gear; Lightroom intro and basic editing workflow;

    • Goal-setting and mapping out your learning journey;

    • A starter resource guide to take home.

  • 2 x 30-minute Google Meet calls within 30 days of your session.

Business Foundations

In-person, approximately 3 hours

You've put in the work. You understand your camera, you've been on a real shoot, you've practiced with a model. Now let's talk about what it actually looks like to build this into a business.

    • How to price your work and understand your worth;

    • Social media strategy for photographers;

    • SEO and building an online presence;

    • Planning for growth and setting realistic goals;

Shadow Session + Guided Practice Shoot

Two separate sessions, approximately 2-3 hours each, plus 2 follow-up virtual sessions)

This is honestly one of my favourite parts of the mentorship, because it's where everything starts to click. Watching and doing are two completely different experiences, and I've structured this stage so you get both, in the right order.

  • You'll join me on one of my real client sessions as my assistant. You won't be shooting, that's intentional. Your only job is to watch. See how I read the light, how I direct my subjects, and how I keep the session flowing even when things don't go exactly to plan.

    Includes:

    • Observing a live professional shoot;

    • Watching how light is read and used in real time;

    • Seeing posing and direction happen naturally;

    • Learning how to make clients feel comfortable and at ease;

    • An observation worksheet to guide what you're looking for.

  • Now it's your turn. I'll bring a model in, most likely a portrait client or couple, since that gives us the freedom to move at a slower, more intimate pace that's so much easier to learn on. This session is built entirely around your learning. I'll be right there coaching you in real time, helping you adjust your settings, think through your poses, and see the light. Afterward, we'll look at your edits together so you can start understanding your own eye.

    Includes:

    • Model provided by Robyn;

    • Hands-on shooting with real-time coaching;

    • Live guidance on light, settings, and posing;

    • An edit review session after the shoot;

    • A posing and lighting guide to keep.

  • 3 x 30-minute Google Meet calls within 45 days.

Bundle: Full Mentorship Journey

Saves about $100 | Payment plan available

If you're ready to commit to the full journey, this is the way to do it. You'll get everything: all three stages, every session (including both the shadow and the practice shoot), all the resource packs, and the full Google Meet check-in support from start to finish. It's the most supported, most thorough way to go from where you are now to actually feeling ready to photograph real clients.

You have 12 months to complete all three stages, so there's no pressure to rush. We go at your pace, and if you ever need to pause, we'll figure it out together.

 FAQs

  • I use Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Honeybook, Pic-Time and Squarespace usually but I have experience with so many other programs.

  • Depending on the weather, we either do a mix of Makers Space Studio and outdoor sessions or just meet at the studio.

  • I will setup all the models for the sessions during the mentorship!

  • Bring what you have! I have other equipment that I will show you, and you are more than welcome to test it out.

  • Yes, I do! If you would like a payment plan include that info in your inquiry and I will work with you!
